My name is Elisheba Brock, I am a 40-year-old mother of three beautiful teenagers, my daughter Trinity is 13 and my boys are Kavantae 16, and Armond 18.

The Beginning

I began working out at the young age of 14 with my brother Jeremiah. I dreamed of becoming a model which I did eventually achieve and continued for several years; I have done print work, swimsuit competitions, and runway. Therefore, I always needed to stay as lean as possible. I was 5’9″ and 115 pounds and a size 2; much too skinny, not healthy.

If I gained more than a pound I wouldn’t be able to walk the runway or even fit in the provided wardrobe, so as you can imagine my diet was next to nothing with a fear of eating. I was anorexic. I was a “cardio bunny” and lifted light weights.

A girlfriend of mine told me at the age of 32 that I should compete on stage with her. I thought she was crazy because of my distorted image of my own body.

The Injury & Transformation

In November 2011, I was in a serious car accident where I was rear-ended by a teenager trying to get home before curfew. The doctors told me I would never be able to work out again.

At the age of 36 I decided to start training for my first bikini competition. First of all I wanted to compete because I was rehabilitating myself from my injuries. My physical therapist told me that since I was a personal trainer I knew what to do, so after being told several times I decided to start doing research on corrective exercises. Since the doctors told me I would never compete or be able to work out again this only made me want to do it even more. Plus, getting older and being a mother of three, I thought it would be a great accomplishment for myself, not to mention a testimony to others.

I started by changing my diet. I learned that I could actually eat food with the proper macros and meal planning and actually lost weight and gained muscle. This was especially necessary after being bedridden for three months and gaining 47 pounds. I was the biggest I have ever been in my life, even bigger than when I was pregnant.

Not having ever competed before, I asked a lot of questions and started to train. Shawn Powers was a good friend and confidant in giving me guidance along the way, plus we got to train together.

November 2013 I competed in the Las Vegas Classic and thought I was not as lean as I should have been. The judges told me that my physique was better suited for figure. So I trained hard over the next year and competed in the same show in 2014 in the figure division and won 2nd place in Masters and 3rd place in Open. This got me excited and hooked on doing competitions.

I want to give a special thanks to my better half Billy Schoonmaker. Without his love and support none of this would even be possible! Thank you for pushing me to and sticking by me through all the dieting and tough workouts!

I love what I do. It is my passion! It’s awesome to have been through everything I’ve been through so that I can now relate to so many different people on so many different levels.

I love helping people and encouraging them through the journey I take them down to reach their goals… it brings me joy to know that I could be a part of their success and be able to touch their lives and bless them.
