Why You Should Do Clap Push Ups
If you’re looking to build explosive power and strength, Clap Push Ups are the first exercise you should start with. Rather than simply enhancing strength and conditioning like the normal push up exercise, Clap Push Ups add an element of speed and power. In addition to being more challenging, they also help build type II fast twitch muscles in your pecs, deltoids, and back.
|(1) Make sure that your hips don’t point in the air as you launch off the ground. Keep them down and in line with the rest of your body.|
|(2) Engage your back/lats as you lower yourself to the ground to prep for the launch.|
|(3) Focus on a quick contraction of your deltoids and pecs to generate as much explosiveness as possible.|
|(4) As soon as your hands come off the ground they should be coming together to clap in one motion.|
